Cost Cutting
We had our telephone line disconnected. My Dad says it’s to cut costs. At first I thought it was okay. Later on, it became such an inconvenience.
Over dinner, I said that we should swap our cable subscription in exchange of the phone line. My mom and sister objected. The following are my arguments:
- TV is not that good for the brain. If they want news, we have AM radio.
- They only watch Wowowee and HBO. Wowowee is available over-the-air and they could download or rent movies.
- Power consumption will go down.
- My brother would spend less time watching TV.
- We could sell some of our television sets.
Which side are you on? If you’re on my side, do you have other arguments? If you’re not (shame on you), what makes you choose the telly over the telephone?
Shoot.
