Pixel Porn
I checked out CityPixel. I think it’s a new spin on dating. It’s like myspace for miniature interior designers. It’s still in its early stages so there’s nothing much to do.
It’s a city based from New York hence Pixel York. You can claim an apartment or an office cube, design it, then, err, say hi to the girl dude next door. Lots of AJAX, moving cars and a chopper that passes by every now and then. There’s also a currency, pixels, which you can earn by logging in everyday, making friends, uploading pictures, blogging and all that cyberflirting stuff.
What really interests me is their business model. There are billboards in the city. 99% of them are available. There are a lot in the northwest areas and you’d see some big names like eBay and Starbucks. Do you think they are earning enough to break even? Even with just the hosting cost alone?
