Journals of a Penguin: Monitoring Tools+F7
- tcptrack - a sniffer which displays information about TCP connections it sees on a network interface.
- ApacheTop - a curses-based top-like display for Apache information [...] watches a logfile generated by Apache and generates human-parsable output in realtime.
- ISPMan - said to be the open source CPanel equivalent (not a monitoring tool).
- Fedora 7 is scheduled to come out on April 26 and you read it right, it’s just Fedora, no core (whole story). I think the following are the most notable in the new features:
- Merge Core and Extras in source control
- Make LiveCDs as a part of the distribution release process
- Speedup of bootup and shutdown
- Make wireless rock-solid
- Add wireless firmware for all the chipsets we can
- Fast user switching in the desktop
- Investigate (but probably don’t switch to) new init technologies
- Speed up Yum and RPM
- Make the update system useable by all
