Please Hire Me Google!!

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

Now that a Google engineer has read my blog, I’d like to take a long shot. I know begging is not good but what the hell. I’m not leaving the country but hopefully, they’ll open up an office here.

Thanks to Mihai Parparita for noticing!

Note: this post is just for entertainment purposes only. If Google decides to take it seriously, I won’t mind. Start worrying if their stock dives when I get in.

He’s right. Every bass player has to know Jaco.

That’s part two. Here are the other parts.

Google Reader Doesn’t Work with Yahoo! 360 Blogs

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

It could be just me but I tried subscribing twice on a Yahoo! 360 blog and I don’t see the feed in the list. The workaround is to use Feedshake (or Yahoo! Pipes) to make another feed that Google Reader can understand.

Something to debate about: Who’s at fault? Yahoo! or Google?

Update: The entries showed up last night. Either they fixed it or just slow. There’s another blog that I subscribed to that had the entries “clogged up” and showed up the next day with a burst. Must be the same case or something.

Qiqi

Here’s a quick rant for the day. I’m annoyed that my amp is borked. Before it was just the right channel that suddenly drops down. Now it’s both channels and the left channel is worse.

There are remedies but it’s only temporary. To fix the right channel, I have to turn off the speakers, put the amp on full blast and play something loud. For the left channel, I have to ground it and sometimes it doesn’t work at once.

The thing is, I can’t find something as simple as the one I’m using. I mean I like analog knobs (everyone loves knobs). I guess it’s time to move on to the future.

On a side note, maybe I can sell it. Then again, I could just keep it and preserve it. Anybody up with repairing a 20-year old Marantz PM 350?

My First Elgg Plugin

Sunday, March 25th, 2007

Nothing big but something that will make returning to an Elgg site a better experience. This plugin provides a template keyword that displays the recent comments in an unordered list. grep helped me with searching for those undocumented functions.

Elgg is an open source social networking plaftform based around choice, flexibility and openness[...]
