Jamendo
The good thing about my odd taste for instrumental and jazz music is that I’m less resistant to music from other cultures. I get to take time to check out indie bands and end up preaching how their sound is better than signed boybands.
I found this new site for indie artists during the last holiday break. I wanted to blog about this before, I just kept forgetting.
Jamendo is a new model for artists to promote, publish, and be paid for their music.
I haven’t encountered an artist that sells their stuff. Songs can be streamed in Ogg format or download them through BitTorrent in lossless format. The songs are protected under Creative Commons too.
Below is the full track entitled “As The Sun Rises” from “Jazzpassaj” by conFusion (French). I needed to brush up on my Flash skills so I made this player (matches the new banner too!).
Good music can always be found in the indie scene.
