Wii Key
The latest stable release of MediaWiki came out right on time the other night. I’m using it as a replacement to paper notebooks. Since I had a webserver running locally at my laptop, I was less hesitant on installing it.
I’m still trying to make LaTeX work for mathematical formulas but with the friggin cables still broken, it’s very discouraging to download anything. I did get to try it with Linear Algebra class this afternoon. It should take a while to get used to the syntax.
One major problem I encountered in Linear Algebra is that there’s no equivalent in the wiki syntax for the subscript. Using HTML tags just takes too much time. The ‘<’,'>’ and ‘/’ keys are compressed in one area plus pressing the shift key.
I also used it at J. P. Rizal class, but it’s hard to tell which ones I should note because Sir Ed’s lecture has a lot of sidetracks to other facts and tidbits of information (not that it’s bad, I love it actually).
I might even expand this thing to my organizer (goodbye PDA phones, you all suck – including the iPhone). This would be great as a value-added service for the school. It’s just a suggestion. I know that the school acts like it wears tight underwear when it comes to giving away IT resources.
On another post, I’ll continue with more radical ideas that can make you puke and pee in your pants at the same time.
