Don’t you just love it when things just work? I just found out that you can get notifications from Google Calendar via SMS [in the Philippines]. The best way to remind me is through IM. An RSS feed of notifications will also work but Google Reader isn’t that fast at refreshing. SMS is the next best thing or next to email.

I don’t use the built-in reminders of mobile phones because I hate typing on those damn things (or just lazy to take my hands off the keyboard). IM is just better because I never close IM windows unless I really have to.

I’m a member of a couple of group calendars but all those groups never got to really utilize it. A Google Calendar Gnome applet would kick ass. I seriously want to delve into making one of those.

Is there a direcory of Gnome applets? I miss using Yahoo! Widgets/Konfabulator.
