In the future, when I get my own place, I want to have a server rack+cabinet in my room. I think I want a studio-type home. No walls, just a big-ass room. I also want a three monitor workstation. Although big computers don’t mean they’re fast. I’m a guy and I like to have big and mean “guns”.

So I did a little search for cheap server racks or ones that are installed in homes. I found a couple and the following is the most interesting. What if your web host’s datacenter looks like this?

It’s so interesting, I had to steal the picture from here, where you’ll find similar disturbing/funny pictures. Anyway, I did find a DIY server rack project. It would be cool to have the time and skill to make my own right now.

Please pardon me for the ideas, it’s Thursday. Thursday is a day where I get computer science torture. I have artificial intelligence and algorithm complexities every Tuesday and Thursday (Tuesdays have a bonus of analytical geometry). I guess I have to consider myself lucky to only have it for 3 hours because I have a classmate who has 4.5 straight hours of the same kind of torture. It’s fun but you wouldn’t want to do it for 3 hours straight. In Filipino, you’d call it pinurgang utak.

A note to Pat: Don’t worry, your site is in good hands …almost.
