I already upgraded to WordPress 2.0.4 and had the Archive tree thing working with it. The new version is here. Here’s the diff patch again:

Then I also changed it to be expanded by default because spiders wouldn’t scan it anymore (what was I thinking?). Here’s the part for sidebar.php.

I still want to know what’ll happen if this gets a lot of diggs.

Note: I will not create a plugin for this. I’m just a lazy and generous geek.
